Introduction

Arcas Champions is a competitive third-person shooter developed by Binance Labs-backed Block Ape Scissors using Unreal Engine 5. The game features blockchain integration across BNB Chain and Soneium networks.

It offers free-to-play access with optional paid Champions and introduces the Skillstaking protocol that tokenizes player matchmaking ratings as tradeable assets. The story follows a civil war between ape factions on Planet Arcas after an alien spaceship crash disrupts their peaceful society.

Lore

Set on the jungle planet Arcas, the game depicts the collapse of peaceful Ape Elder rule following an alien spaceship crash. Village Elites seized control and exiled weaker tribes to the planet’s fringes. They discovered the mysterious alien element Bastonium in the wreckage.

An exiled chimp called MadMonkey leads the Renegades in guerrilla warfare against the militarized Village Elites. The conflict centers on planetary liberation and control of Bastonium’s power, representing a struggle between authoritarian control and freedom.

Gameplay

Players compete in fast-paced matches choosing Champions with unique abilities and movement systems including wall vaults, gliding, and powerful leaps. The game features team-based combat modes and ranked matchmaking systems.

Combat utilizes fruit-based weaponry including pineapple grenades and melon-powered rifles. The Council governance system allows top-ranked players to vote on weapon balance and new features. Progression is tied to specific Champion mastery rather than overall profile advancement.
