To The Grave: The Hunters of Faenora is a tactical roguelite RPG set in a dark medieval fantasy world, built on the Solana blockchain with Metaplex hybrid NFTs for squad ownership. Players engage in turn based monster hunts via browser or PC alpha demo, with free to play access for base gameplay and optional NFTs for full earning. The setting centers on hunters from Donegal venturing into the Wildlands to combat Netherbeast invasions from a breached nethergate.

Story / Lore

Hunters of Faenora takes place in the Kingdom of Faenora, a medieval realm facing a crisis after an ancient nethergate, long believed to be sealed forever, was breached. The rupture unleashed corrupted creatures and, according to persistent rumors, powerful Netherlords into the Wildlands. Their influence twists the land’s wildlife, driving gryphons, dragons and other beasts into violent, corrupted forms that threaten the borders of the kingdom.

In response, the King of Faenora sealed off the Wildlands under the guise of containment, though many within the realm whisper that his motives are far less honorable. The region has been effectively abandoned, left to decay under the spreading corruption.

Players operate from Donegal, a mercenary outpost established by decree of the King under General Faulkner. Official proclamations portray Hunters as heroic reclaimers of lost territory rewarded with food and fortune. In practice, the program functions as a tool to exploit desperate adventurers, divert public unrest and obscure the true origins of the Nethergate disaster. Moochkin, the dimension travelling red panda inventor, appears throughout the FaenoraVerse as a recurring figure tied to this unfolding crisis.

Gameplay

Players command squads of up to six customizable characters through roguelite hunts in the Wildlands, selecting perilous paths to confront and defeat Netherbeasts in turn based 3×3 grid battles. Success depends on squad building, positioning, and adapting to enemy patterns, with Nethertalons earned from hunts contributing to leaderboard rankings and seasonal competitive events.

The economy revolves around MCHY as the main utility token used for stat and class rerolls, unit revivals, and cosmetic purchases through the in game Tailor. Tokens are earned primarily via hunt performance, which rewards active players, and sponsorship staking, which rewards those who deposit assets into the Financier system. A large share of expenditures is recycled into a community rewards pool, supporting a circular reward structure.

Tradable NFTs, including Mercenaries, Villagers, and Heroes, enable full earning access and are designed for interoperability across FaenoraVerse titles. Players can swap or re roll these NFTs using MCHY on supported platforms, with presale participants receiving early access benefits and bonuses tied to their holdings.
