Intro

Ember Sword is a  fantasy MMORPG developed by Brightstar Studios. It features a player-driven economy, classless combat, and a persistent open world filled with PvE and PvP gameplay. Built on the Immutable X blockchain, the game is available for PC browsers with a mobile version planned for the future.

Story

The world of Ember Sword is set on Thanabus, a moon of Jupiter that was once part of the interplanetary government of Pangaea. A catastrophic event, unleashed by a godlike entity, reshaped the moon’s environment, forcing its inhabitants to adapt and rebuild. In the wake of this upheaval, survivors established a provisional government known as the Republic, which governs the northern hemisphere. Thanabus is divided into four diverse regions: Duskeron, a land of resourceful scavengers and thriving trade; Ediseau, a snowy expanse that was once a lush forest; Sevrend, a treacherous terrain filled with venomous creatures and contrasting landscapes; and Solarwood, a tranquil forest region. Each area offers distinct challenges and opportunities, providing a dynamic and immersive world for exploration and conquest.

Gameplay

Ember Sword offers a dynamic MMORPG experience with a mix of PvE and PvP elements in a persistent open world. Players can engage in classless combat, equipping various weapons to unlock unique abilities and develop versatile playstyles. Inspired by MOBA and hack-and-slash games, the combat system emphasizes strategy and skill, with ground indicators signaling potential damage during encounters.

In PvE, players can venture solo or in groups of up to four to face monsters, complete quests, and gather resources. PvP zones add a competitive edge, where players battle for rewards and territory, with varying penalties for defeats based on the zone. Resource gathering and crafting further enrich the gameplay, enabling a player-driven economy where choices shape progression.

Economy and NFTs

Ember Sword integrates NFTs and a robust tokenomics model to create an engaging and player-driven economy. LAND plots serve as ERC721 assets, enabling landowners to build crafting stations, guild houses, and other structures. Land types, from regular plots to cities, influence potential rewards and gameplay experiences.

Cosmetic items like skins, emotes, and armor are purely aesthetic and do not affect gameplay balance. These collectibles are limited in supply, obtained through PvE, PvP objectives, tournaments, and events. Players can also fuse collectibles to create higher-tier items using the in-game currency, EMBER.

The economy revolves around a Dynamic Token Release Model, aligning the circulation of EMBER tokens with player activity. A Burn and Mint Equilibrium mechanism manages the total supply of 2.5 billion tokens, maintaining balance through deflationary and inflationary policies.

Landowners earn a percentage of financial transactions on their land, while the Cosmetic Merging system regulates the collectible supply. This system ensures sustainability and rewards player engagement without introducing pay-to-win elements.
