Introduction
Parallel is a free-to-play sci-fi trading card game in which players build 40-card decks and battle one on one for one of five interstellar factions. It is set in a solar system reshaped by a cataclysm called The Priming, and its cards are issued as digital collectibles on Ethereum. The game runs on PC and mobile, with ranked ladders, casual matches, and tournaments.
Lore
After a cataclysm known as The Priming, humanity splintered into five civilizations, each adapting to a different corner of the solar system. The Marcolian rebuilt as a militaristic power on Mars, while the Augencore became nomadic engineers among the asteroids. On Europa, the Kathari turned to cloning and genetic science, and the Shroud followed a mystical devotion to a figure called The Great One. The Earthen remained on a transformed Earth, now a contested energy hub at the center of the system.
As these factions converge on Earth and its resources, Parallel’s story follows their competing claims to survival, identity, and control, the same rivalries players carry into every match.
Gameplay
Each match is a one on one, turn-based duel, and the goal is to drop the opponent’s health to zero. Players bring a 40-card deck built from a chosen faction alongside universal cards, mixing units, effects, relics, and upgrades. Card advantage, sequencing, and reading the opponent’s plan tend to matter more than raw power, so tight play beats brute force.
- Paragon commanders anchor every deck, setting its faction, its abilities, and the synergies it can build toward.
- Energy Banking is the signature mechanic: setting cards aside stores the energy to deploy stronger units and effects later.
- Ranked, casual, and tournaments give players a ladder to climb or lower-stakes rooms to test new decks.
Economy
Parallel is free to play and needs no wallet to start, but its collectible layer runs on blockchain. Cards exist as ERC-1155 digital collectibles on Ethereum, with some assets on the Base network, and players who own the collectible version of their cards can earn PRIME by winning ranked matches. PRIME is the shared token of the Echelon ecosystem rather than a Parallel-only currency, and it feeds sinks such as card forging and premium tournament entry. In-game purchases of non-collectible items use a soft currency called Glints.
- Card ownership is optional for playing, but only owners of the collectible cards qualify to earn token rewards from ranked wins.
- PRIME utility reaches across the wider Echelon ecosystem, covering forging, entry fees, and token-gated features.
- Trading runs on OpenSea, where the collectible cards and cosmetics can be bought and sold.

arallel is a sci-fi card game that really hooked me with its unique factions and strategic gameplay. Each faction feels so different, and figuring out how to combine them is half the fun. The artwork and lore make it even more immersive. It’s free-to-play, so definitely worth checking out!
