Intro

Spellborne is a monster-catching MMORPG developed by Mon Studios, set in a retro pixel-art world called Celestia. Players start as one of three hunters—Atom, Bellatrix, or Cosmo—each with distinct goals, navigating an ever-expanding universe where choices shape their path. Currently in pre-season on browser, it prepares players for Season 1’s full launch across iOS, Android, and PC. Free-to-play with optional purchases like apartments for early access, it targets fans of RPGs and monster-taming adventures.

Story

The game unfolds in Celestia, a dynamic world where players begin in Yorokobi Town, a peaceful hub with friendly NPCs and wild monsters. The lore pits hunters against the tyrannical Order, a controlling force, or aligns them with Team Crux, seeking redemption. Guilds fuel rivalries and alliances, while personal ambitions—like becoming the greatest hunter—drive the narrative. Official sources emphasize a story shaped by player decisions, evolving through community actions in an original universe.

Gameplay

Spellborne tasks players with capturing and training monsters to rise as Celestia’s top hunters, advancing through quests and battles. In turn-based combat, players deploy monsters to fight wild foes or rivals, using sync crystals to weaken and capture them. Each turn, you select moves—like attacks or buffs—balancing monster stats and energy costs. Pre-season offers account setup and events like Wheel of Fortune, while Season 1 unlocks full monster-catching and guild tasks. PvP leagues bring ranked 1v1 and 2v2 showdowns, PvE features solo quests, and co-op thrives in guild play. Farming and crafting enhance resources in a retro world.
    • Monster Evolution: Mutate monsters for unique abilities and looks.

Spellborne’s economy mixes NFTs and tokens with free-to-play access. NFTs like apartments (early access, guild hubs), monsters, and characters boost battles and offer perks like priority entry, per OpenSea. The $BORNE token, planned for trading on exchanges, will support guilds, purchases, and rewards but isn’t launched yet. In-game guild tokens manage internal transactions, per blog posts.
    • NFTs Boost Play: Apartments and monsters enhance gameplay.
    • BORNE Awaits: Future token for rewards and guilds.
    • Guild Power: Tokens shape community dynamics.
