Wanaka Farm is preparing a 2.0 relaunch of its 2021 release, with community testing signups open in October 2025. The game is an upcoming multiplayer farming simulation focused on relaxing, cooperative play. Inspired by the lakeside town of Wanaka in New Zealand, players cultivate plots, raise animals, complete quests, and personalize their farms.
Gameplay
In the original release, players started with a land plot and progressed by planting, watering, harvesting crops, and caring for animals. Quests and experience drove advancement, unlocking tools and farm upgrades over time. The game included a gene-based crossbreeding system, seasonal events, a player marketplace, and a land rental system.

Economy
The original economy used a dual-token model on Binance Smart Chain. $WANA served governance and premium functions (capped supply), while $WAI was the in-game reward token (burn-regulated). Land, crops, pets, and decorations were issued as NFTs and traded on the official marketplace. Land rental allowed owners to earn passive $WANA.
