Editor’s Take
Two years in, Nine Chronicles M is rolling out updates that combine repeatable challenge content with player-driven creativity.
The Infinite Tower introduces monthly climbs, the event dungeon delivers substantial resource drops, and Thor’s planet reset gives everyone
equal footing for a new season. A game jam adds a community design layer on top. Our call: this mix refreshes the idle RPG structure,
supporting onboarding and keeping long-term players engaged without a full-scale overhaul. For a broader look at the game itself, check out our
summary of Nine Chronicles.
What’s Actually Happening
-
Infinite Tower: Opens with monthly resets, two daily tickets for up to 60 floors per day,
extra tickets purchasable with NCG or Sapphire Dust, and a 100-floor starting cap that will rise once enough
players reach the top. -
2nd Anniversary Event Dungeon: Runs from November 25 to December 25, granting
1,000 AP Potions, 100,000 Hourglasses, 100,000,000 Crystals, and materials for a free Mythic Aura
and Mythic Grimoire as the core dungeon rewards. -
2nd Anniversary Gift Bundle: Separate from the dungeon, players also receive a costume,
a title with event-related buffs, and Rune Slot rewards that support build experimentation during the
anniversary period. -
Thor Planet Season: Thor’s planet (Thor Chain) reopens from November 25, 2025, to January 29, 2026,
with 3× patrol rewards and 50 % reduced NCG costs for key upgrades, two Arena rounds each offering 600,000 NCG in prizes,
and a full seasonal reset so all participants begin from the same starting point. -
9C × V8 Game Jam: Runs from November 25 to December 16, letting players create no-code mini-games using Verse8,
supported by a public asset drive, with 600,000 NCG in total rewards and the possibility for winning entries to become
official Nine Chronicles Universe content. -
PC Shop Integration: Desktop players can now purchase packages and season passes directly through
the PC client, aligning monetisation options across platforms.
Why This Matters
-
Reset equity: Thor’s seasonal reset gives returning and new players a clear entry point,
compressing progression gaps. Similar wipes historically spike activity, but require careful tuning to avoid
burnout if the climb feels too repetitive. -
Resource boost: The anniversary dungeon’s large resource drops reduce early and mid-game grind,
helping newer accounts reach relevant content faster. At the same time, such a crystal influx has to be monitored
so it does not destabilise long-term progression pacing. -
Community build: The game jam lowers the barrier for community-made content, extending the universe
beyond the core client. If winning projects are actually integrated, it can gradually expand the playable ecosystem
without relying only on internal development. -
Endless engagement: The Infinite Tower’s monthly cycles create a recurring goal that fits
idle RPG play patterns better than single-shot events, giving players a predictable, repeatable target while
leaving room for tuning difficulty over time. -
Spend tilt: Selling extra Tower tickets introduces a clear convenience edge for paying players,
especially around race-style leaderboards. This supports monetisation but increases the need for transparent
balancing so competitive modes do not feel dominated by spending.
Our Verdict
The highlight elements are the Infinite Tower’s repeatable progression loop and Thor’s seasonal reset, which combines
fast progression with significant prize pools. The anniversary dungeon’s high resource output offers a short window
for players to accelerate account growth before December 25, potentially reshaping the mid-game curve. As a package,
this update strengthens Nine Chronicles M’s position going into its third year by combining automated combat with
player-created content and seasonal resets that can be iterated on over time.
