Oasys
What is Oasys
Oasys is a blockchain network designed for gaming rather than general-purpose applications. It was developed to address common technical challenges such as high transaction volume, network congestion, and server scalability.
The network uses a two-layer system. The base layer, called the Hub Layer, handles security and stability. The second layer, called the Verse Layer, is optimized for gameplay and allows developers to operate their own dedicated environments for each game.
This structure helps avoid performance issues caused by unrelated network activity and provides more predictable capacity for games. Developers can allocate resources more efficiently and isolate their game’s activity from external load.
Oasys is compatible with Ethereum tools and supports higher transaction throughput when using dedicated Verses. This setup aims to support games that require frequent in-game actions without slowing down performance.
Notable Games
- Champions Tactics: A tactical PvP RPG from Ubisoft. Players assemble squads of fantasy champions to compete in turn-based strategic battles, with each character being a tradable NFT.
- 9 Lives Arena : A competitive fantasy RPG focused on skill-based 1v1 PvP. The game features a unique “permadeath” mechanic where characters have nine lives for ranked matches, raising the stakes of every fight.
- My Crypto Heroes: Web3 RPGs, where players collect and train heroes inspired by historical figures. You can send heroes on quests for rare items and battle in PvP tournaments.
How Gamers Can Earn
Players earn by engaging with games. Completing battles, quests, or competitive events grants digital items or game tokens. These in-game assets, often NFTs, can be traded or used within the Verse’s ecosystem.
With Oasys’s no-fee gameplay, gamers can freely mint, transfer, or use their assets without needing extra cryptocurrency for each action. This simplicity keeps focus on playing, not managing transactions.
Some games, like Champions Tactics, offer optional NFT minting and forging. Players can mint free or purchased NFTs, use them in gameplay, and trade or forge new ones to enhance their experience.
Staking and Rewards
Oasys uses a native token called OAS, which can be staked to support the network and earn rewards. Gamers and token holders can stake with an existing validator through the official staking platform, choosing how much to stake and from which wallet.
Unstaking tokens requires a 10-day waiting period before withdrawal is possible. During this time, rewards are paused. Users can also restake or claim pending rewards through the same platform, depending on validator participation.
The token supply is capped at 10 billion, with around 4 billion in circulation as of mid‑2025. OAS may also appear in some games as a currency for trading, events, or purchases, depending on the title.
Node Program
The Oasys network is secured by validator nodes, which play a key role in maintaining the blockchain and supporting Verse environments. Operating a validator requires a stake of 10 million OAS tokens, either through self-delegation or from delegators.
Most current validators are large ecosystem partners such as Ubisoft, SEGA, and Bandai Namco. While it’s unclear whether the program is fully open to the public, the high staking requirement makes it inaccessible to most individual gamers. Future changes may expand access or introduce delegation options.
Tech & Background
Oasys was founded and launched its mainnet in 2022 by a team of gaming and tech industry veterans. It is built on an environmentally friendly Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism.
Its credibility is reinforced by its initial validators, which include gaming giants like SEGA, Ubisoft, Square Enix, and Bandai Namco. These partnerships ensure a continuous pipeline of high-quality games, solidifying Oasys’s position as a leading platform for global gamers.
