Introduction

BLOCKLORDS is a free-to-play medieval grand strategy MMO from MetaKing Studios, fully released on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players take on roles as farmers, warriors, or rulers, managing resources, building armies, and governing territory across a persistent, player-driven world. The game runs on LORDCHAIN, a layer-3 network built on Base.

Setting

BLOCKLORDS takes place in a medieval-inspired alternate world where regions are claimed and governed by Lords and Ladies who set taxes, defend their territory, and expand through alliances or conquest. Rather than following a fixed story, the developers describe the setting’s history as written by the players themselves, through the choices heroes make and the wars they fight.

Gameplay

BLOCKLORDS centers on choosing a playstyle: farming and settling land, gathering and trading resources, governing a region, or building armies for large-scale combat. Players assign squads to specific tasks, balance their village’s resources, and respond to random events that can disrupt plans. Regional governance lets a Lord or Lady set local policy, while conquest and alliance-building determine control over the wider map.

Economy

BLOCKLORDS runs its economy on LORDCHAIN, a layer-3 network built on Base, where $LRDS pays gas fees and secures the network. Locking $LRDS as veLRDS grants governance votes and Influence rewards, which can be spent on items like exclusive Heroes and time boosts. Hero NFTs are optional, tradable characters with their own stats and equipment; owning one is not required, since the base game is fully free-to-play.
