Introduction

Honeyland is a strategy and resource-management game on Solana where you run a colony of bees and send them out to gather honey. It plays mobile-first on iOS and Android, wrapping web3 assets around a casual beekeeping loop set in a world called the Honeyverse.

Lore

Honeyland casts players as beekeepers tending swarms across the Honeyverse, a set of worlds reached through guarded portals. The bees serve queens, and much of the setting runs through Queen Apisara, whose covert order, the Wingbeats, carries out her will across Honeyland. New regions have to be earned rather than handed over: to reach Cocarro, the second universe, beekeepers must defeat Icerax, a bone dragon of the frozen tundra who guards its portal. Other rulers such as Queen Harmonia turn up in the story chapters the team publishes alongside the game. The narrative stays light and episodic, giving structure to missions and expansion rather than driving one central plot, but it lends the colonies, worlds, and rivalries a consistent backdrop.

Gameplay

Honeyland runs on a hive-management loop: grow a colony of bees, keep them productive, and send them out to bring back resources. Players begin with a training queen and a handful of bees, then expand by breeding and hatching new bees and queens with different traits. Progress comes from choosing missions well, deciding which bees to deploy, and pushing into new areas of the map.

  • Missions: farm nectar on land, hunt eggs and consumable items, or venture into other universes for rarer finds.
  • Bee moods: match a bee’s mood to its queen to improve the odds of a successful run.
  • PvP hives: raid rival colonies in an auto-battler and defend your own, or line up in organized bee races.

Economy

Honey, the in-game name for the HXD token, is the currency that ties the game together. Players earn it by completing missions, winning matches, and taking part in events, then spend it on upgrades, breeding, and marketplace purchases. Bees, queens, land, and consumable items exist as NFTs whose traits affect how well a colony performs, and they can be traded, including through Magic Eden. Combat carries a risk layer as well: attacking another hive means putting your own honey on the line, so a raid can pay off or set you back.

  • Earning honey: missions, matches, and events pay out the HXD token used across the game.
  • Asset NFTs: bees, queens, land, and consumables carry traits that shape colony output.
  • Trading: buy and sell assets in-app and on the Magic Eden marketplace.
