KOMPETE

Introduction

KOMPETE is a free-to-play, cross-platform multiplayer game from Modernize Games that packs several competitive sports and arcade modes into one Unreal Engine 5 title. Players compete as customizable characters called KOMPETITORS across modes such as Blitz Royale, Kart Race, and Social Deduction, and the game is in early access on PC, Android, and iOS. Its KOMPETE Token runs on Ethereum and Base and powers an optional in-game cosmetics marketplace.

Setting

KOMPETE has no central storyline. Instead of a scripted campaign, its modes are tied together by a shared cartoon-realistic world set on Mahzookoo Island. Players take the field as KOMPETITORS, avatars built through a deep character creator with dozens of customization options, and carry that identity into every mode. The framing is a rotating roster of arcade sports events rather than a narrative campaign.

Gameplay

The core loop is short competitive matches across a growing set of modes that all share one avatar and progression track. Before a match players lock in a character build, then drop into whichever mode they choose. Current options include Blitz Royale, a respawn-based battle royale where the last team standing wins; Kart Race, a first-past-the-line arcade racer; and Social Deduction, where players take hidden roles such as Civilian, Guard, or Thug. A driving-range Golf mode recently entered early access, and Basketball is on the roadmap.

Economy

KOMPETE runs a dual web2 and web3 economy that keeps blockchain features optional. Regular play earns cosmetic Game Items through two grind tracks, Chapter Tickets and Fame Rewards, tied to match performance and progression, while an in-game currency covers standard shop purchases. Players who want to trade can convert eligible cosmetics into ERC-1155 NFTs with the Konvert tool, then buy and sell them in the in-game Bazaar marketplace. The KOMPETE Token, an ERC-20 asset available on Ethereum and Base, is the settlement currency for those Bazaar trades, and nothing on-chain is required to play.
