Introduction
Origins TCG, developed by Koin Games under the working title Project O in partnership with Immutable, is an upcoming competitive trading card game built primarily for mobile, with additional playtesting underway on PC and Mac via Steam. It runs on the Immutable blockchain and is free-to-play, with a Steam listing marked coming soon ahead of a targeted global launch. The game reimagines public-domain myths and fairy-tale figures, from Robin Hood and Mulan to Winnie-the-Pooh, inside a monk-punk, high-tech setting.
Lore
Origins TCG sets its cast inside Origins: a monk-punk, high-tech realm where public-domain myths and folklore characters coexist. Reimagined figures include Robin Hood, Mulan, Winnie-the-Pooh, Little Red Riding Hood, Sherlock Holmes, Puss in Boots, and the Queen of Hearts, redrawn with steampunk and cyberpunk touches such as pirates, cyber witches, monster trucks, and glowing clockwork. The launch card set draws from this shared world, and Koin Games has said future expansions will add new characters and IP collaborations. Card art favors hand-drawn, vibrant 3D designs that blend fairy-tale motifs with contemporary styling.
Gameplay
Matches are built around simultaneous turns: both players draw, predict, and act at the same time instead of waiting on each other, with games typically running about 7 minutes. Each match pulls from a pool of over 100 rotating locations across three lanes, changing the board and forcing a different strategy each time. Cards are pulled from packs, leveled up over time, and can be traded with other players on an in-game marketplace.
- Simultaneous three-lane turns replace turn-waiting with real-time prediction and counterplay.
- Rotating location pool of 100+ boards changes match conditions and viable strategies each game.
- Card grading and trading let players collect hand-drawn, limited-edition card versions and swap duplicates on a marketplace.
Economy
Card ownership runs on Immutable, with select cards issued as Blueprint NFTs in master sets of 100 that can generate a share of game revenue for holders. There is no native token: value moves through card ownership, packs, and trading instead. A winner-takes-all wagering mode lets players stake cards against each other in matches, and cards can be leveled up for added visual rarity over time.
- Blueprint NFT master sets cap select cards at 100 copies, with holders eligible for a share of game revenue.
- Card wagering puts staked cards on the line in winner-takes-all matches.
- Marketplace trading lets players buy, sell, and grade limited-edition card variants outside of matches.
