Introduction

Wilder World is a competitive shooter set in Wiami, a cyberpunk city that anchors a larger open-world project still in development. The current build is a free Super Early Access release on the Epic Games Store for Windows, centered on multiplayer deathmatch combat with on-chain progression. Its wider metaverse ambitions, including exploration, building, and vehicle play, remain planned rather than playable.

Lore

Wilder World is set after an event called the Great Fork, which fractured reality and pushed civilization to the edge of collapse. In the fiction, the scientist F. G. Wilder builds a simulation to preserve human consciousness, and survivors rebuild inside Wiami, a neon coastal city that blends art, technology, and daily survival.

That stability is threatened by The FORUM, a rogue artificial intelligence that breaches Wiami’s defenses in pursuit of the KERNEL, the core device said to power the simulation. Players enter this conflict through roles such as Guardians, Agents, and Sentinels, each framed around a different approach to combat and exploration. The current release surfaces this backdrop mainly through its setting and factions rather than a scripted campaign.

Gameplay

The playable Super Early Access build is a fast multiplayer shooter. Matches run as ten-player deathmatches across three maps, with a toggle between first- and third-person views, more than ten weapons, destructible cover, and touches like sprinting through reloads and a lunging melee strike. Ranked play feeds regional leaderboards and periodic tournaments, while a solo mode lets players train against AI before entering competitive servers.

  • Three combat maps: Hydrolink runs as solo AI training, while The Beginning and DROID host multiplayer battles.
  • Dual perspective: players switch between first- and third-person mid-match to suit the weapon or situation.
  • On-chain progression: every match’s stats, kills, and outcomes are recorded to Z Chain, ZERO’s layer-1 network.

Economy

The project’s on-chain economy centers on a governance and utility token used for in-game spending, staking, and payouts, alongside a broad set of NFTs. Digital assets span virtual land, vehicles, avatars, and wearables, most of which attach to the wider metaverse rather than the current shooter. Trading runs through the Wilder World Metaverse Market and secondary venues such as OpenSea. In the Super Early Access build, competitive play distributes token and NFT rewards to top performers.

  • Token utility: the network’s token handles marketplace purchases, staking, and governance over the project’s direction.
  • NFT assets: land, vehicles, and wearable items are owned as NFTs for use across the planned world.
  • Competitive rewards: leaderboard and tournament results pay out in WILD and exclusive in-game NFTs.
