The Sandbox has opened pre-registration for NEXT, its first mobile playtest built on Unreal Engine, featuring battle royale gameplay across two maps. Pre-registration runs from March 18 to March 25, with the playtest itself scheduled for March 26 through April 9. Participants can earn Quest NFTs and an exclusive avatar by completing daily missions, while a referral leaderboard offers a shared pool of 10,000 $SAND to the top 10 referrers.
Whats Happening
Update (March 30–31, 2026): The Sandbox has extended pre-registration until April 8. The playtest is running in two phases:
- Phase 1: March 26 – March 29 (completed)
- Phase 2: April 2 – April 9
Players who register now can still join Phase 2. Late registrants are explicitly encouraged in recent map deep-dive posts.
- The Sandbox is running its first mobile playtest, called NEXT, built on Unreal Engine with battle royale gameplay across two maps.
- Players who complete a daily quest on four different days can unlock a Grand Prize exclusive avatar.
- A daily Quest NFT is awarded to players who eliminate another player during the Unlimited Ammo Event.
- The top 10 referrers at the end of the playtest period will each receive 1,000 $SAND from a shared pool.
- Players not selected in the first round may still be eligible for a second phase of the playtest.
Dates and Rollout
- Pre-registration opens March 18 at 2 p.m. UTC and closes March 25 at 2 p.m. UTC.
- The playtest runs from March 26 through April 9.
- Selected players will be notified by email shortly before the playtest begins on March 26 at 2 p.m. UTC.
- Registration remains open until the start of the second phase for players not selected in the first round.
Numbers and Rules
- 39,650 players had registered at the time the source was captured.
- The referral prize pool is 10,000 $SAND, split equally among the top 10 referrers at 1,000 $SAND each.
- Four Quest NFTs must be collected, one per qualifying day, to unlock the Grand Prize avatar.
- Referral points are counted only for legitimate registrations that result in an actual playtest player, with bot and fake accounts excluded.
- The playtest is available on both iOS and Android.
