EVE Frontier has launched Cycle 6: Sanctuary, introducing a rebuilt survival loop, modular ship development, environmental hazards, changes to Ferals, Dormant Gates, and a fuel-driven economy. The update also adds a revised opening experience and a five-day trial for eligible new and existing players.
What Changed
- Sanctuary introduces a more complete survival loop built around scavenging, crafting, construction, and creating protected areas in the Frontier.
- Ships now begin with a core vessel structure that can be expanded through modules, providing new functions and specializations.
- Printing, refining, and module construction can be performed aboard ships, allowing players to operate more independently while travelling.
- Environmental conditions now affect survival, with heat from stars, distance, cover, wrecks, rocks, and structures influencing ship exposure.
- Ferals have become more reactive, with new behaviours and lifecycles that can develop if players leave emerging threats unchecked.
- Dormant Gates can be restored by contributing resources, reopening routes between isolated regions while requiring continued maintenance.
- A fuel economy loop allows players to acquire Mining Lenses, extract Crude Matter, and refine it into Fuel used across ships, bases, industry, infrastructure, and travel.
Access and Rollout
- Cycle 6: Sanctuary launched on June 26, 2026.
- New players can start a five-day trial by registering an account, downloading the launcher, and creating a character.
- Existing accounts without Founder Access can activate the same trial by creating their first character.
- Founder Access is required to continue playing after the trial ends.
Additional Changes
- The opening experience now uses dynamic objectives that respond to the materials, structures, enemies, and systems encountered by the player.
- The HUD, System View, KEEP Monitor, and other interface systems have been updated to provide clearer survival and navigation information.
- Tribes can now be formed in space without first travelling to a station.
- Network Nodes can be placed with fewer location restrictions, giving players more control over settlement placement.
