Fishing Frenzy and its developer, Uncharted, are shutting down, with game servers scheduled to close on June 25, 2026, at 2:00 a.m. UTC. The studio said it was unable to establish a viable product-market-business fit in crypto gaming after testing multiple directions over the past year. Its wind-down plan includes eligible USDC refunds, redistribution of USDC from the FISH/USDC liquidity pool based on Karma scores, and the public release of Karma score data.
What Changed
- Fishing Frenzy servers will close on June 25, 2026, at 2:00 a.m. UTC, after which game items and features will no longer be accessible.
- FISH has been made spend-only and untradable, meaning it can no longer be transferred or sold but can still be spent in-game until the servers close.
- All USDC withdrawn from the FISH/USDC liquidity pool will be redistributed proportionally to users based on their Karma scores at the June 15 snapshot.
- Eligible non-diving USDC purchases made after the Chapter 3 launch on May 14 will be refunded automatically.
- Proof of Distribution rewards will be distributed by Sky Mavis to Fishing Frenzy players in proportion to their Karma scores.
- The Karma score dataset has been published on GitHub so that other teams and partners can use it if they choose.
Dates and Rollout
- Servers close on June 25, 2026, at 2:00 a.m. UTC, equivalent to 9:00 a.m. ICT and 10:00 p.m. ET on June 24.
- The Karma snapshot used to calculate payouts was taken on June 15, 2026. Activity after the snapshot does not increase a player’s payout share.
- Refund eligibility covers qualifying purchases made after the Chapter 3 launch on May 14.
- USDC payouts will be sent to the Ronin wallet linked to each eligible account, with completion announced through official channels.
- The Fishing Frenzy Discord will remain open for at least 30 days after the final USDC payout is completed.
Numbers and Rules
- Each user’s redistribution share is calculated as their Karma divided by the total Karma recorded at the snapshot, multiplied by the total USDC being distributed.
- All users with more than zero Karma at the snapshot are eligible for a proportional USDC payout.
- Holding FISH alone does not qualify a user for a payout; eligibility is based on Karma.
- USDC packages are no longer available for purchase.
- Fish collections, pets, boat skins, fossils, and other server-side items will become inaccessible when the servers close.
- Uncharted said it has no plans for another project and will also cease operations.
