Gigaverse has launched Gigling Racing, an onchain racing game on the Abstract blockchain. The game centers on Giglings, described by the project as two-legged horses, racing against other players for ETH entry fees. Gigling Racing is accessible without a Gigaverse account and is designed to work both inside the existing Gigaverse world and as a standalone title at giglingracing.com.
What Changed
- Gigling Racing is now live as a Gigaverse game mode that does not require an existing Gigaverse account to play.
- The game runs onchain, with races resolved by a custom Race Oracle and results submitted onchain.
- Each Gigling has four race-phase stats: Start, Speed, Stamina, and Finish.
- Core stats are rolled at the start of each race based on the Gigling’s base stats.
- Players can use items during races to boost their own Gigling or slow down opponents, depending on the race settings chosen by the host.
- Every Gigling has a limited race career before retirement, with breeding intended to produce an offspring that replaces the retired parent in the player’s stable.
Dates and Rollout
- Gigling Racing is live on Abstract.
- The game is expected to run in public beta for approximately the first week without breeding.
- Breeding is expected to go live within one to two weeks after launch.
Numbers and Rules
- There are six Gigling rarity tiers: Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Relic, and Giga.
- Each race has a default of eight Gigling slots.
- Each race has an ETH entry fee set by the race creator.
- Race creators can configure the payout split. The source gives an example of 60% for first place, 30% for second, and 10% for third.
- Race creators will also be able to set a house fee within a minimum and maximum range.
- Entry fees are distributed to race winners, with a portion going to an ongoing jackpot and a small protocol fee deducted.
- There are eight factions, while some Giglings may run factionless.
- Each race rolls one of three track conditions: cold, average, or hot.
- Giglings are ERC-721 tokens on Abstract and can be purchased on OpenSea.
- Unhatched Giglings in egg form must be hatched within Gigaverse.
