Onchain Heroes has published Devlog #5, centered on the introduction of Valor, a new USD-pegged offchain currency that will power the game’s upcoming marketplace. The marketplace will launch before OCH World, starting with Eve Keys as the first tradeable item, and is being rolled out in phases to allow system testing before the broader OCH World deployment.
What Changed
- A new in-game currency called Valor has been introduced. It is pegged to the US dollar, acquired using USDC on Abstract Mainnet, and operates offchain for instant trades with no gas fees.
- The $HERO token is transitioning from the primary in-game currency to a premium currency with exclusive uses that Valor cannot access, starting with Weapon Remixing.
- A marketplace is launching ahead of OCH World, beginning with Eve Keys as the first tradeable item, with more items planned to follow over time.
- Energy earned in the MoG dungeon can be used to restore fishing heroes in OCH World, creating a cross-game resource bridge. Energy will also be purchasable with Valor and will be soulbound.
- Ring-holding players will receive a weekly cache containing Energy, cosmetics, and other resources as part of a new Ringbearers mechanic.
- MoG is receiving its largest update since launch with a new Item System. The first items are launching the day after the devlog was published, with the Pocket Portal shown as the first item.
Dates and Rollout
- The marketplace will launch before OCH World.
- The first MoG items launch the day after the devlog was posted.
- S2 reward holders will have their $HERO credited automatically on day one of OCH World’s launch.
- Additional details on the updated World’s Eve loop will be posted the following week.
- Weapon Remixing, accessible only via $HERO, is returning in the near future.

- Valor contracts will be audited and additional operational security measures will be applied.
- Depositing and withdrawing Valor will be handled natively within the game client.
- Energy is soulbound and will become increasingly scarce in upcoming updates.
- Energy will be purchasable with Valor for players who want additional actions without waiting.
