Cambria is bringing its next major release, Dungeons, to mainnet in May, according to a development update published April 23. The short-session roguelike mode is designed as a low-barrier entry point for new players, and its launch will also restructure the existing game world by replacing the current hub area with a new dungeon lobby called Ashford’s Hollow.
Whats Happening
- A new game mode called Dungeons is launching on mainnet in May, designed around short sessions with a deposit-and-play format borrowing structural elements from Gold Rush.
- The Dungeons lobby area, Ashford’s Hollow, will replace the current hub area for the live Cambria game world, and will also provide access to Islets, trade, and Islands travel.
- A follow-up expansion called Hardcore Dungeons is planned after the initial Dungeons release, adding a PvPvE winner-takes-all format described as similar to Dark and Darker.
- Gold Rush is being reworked into a macro PvP experience centered on extraction, raids, and crafting, with a season-based end-game economy structure.
- A full cosmetics override system applying across all game modes is described as coming soon, alongside planned cosmetic shard auctions for Cores holders.
- Backend infrastructure updates have been shipped, including dynamic scaling for Dungeons instances, crash fixes, and memory leak resolutions on Islands.
